Transfer Admission
Veterans & Active-Duty Military
Missouri S&T is approved for the certification of students eligible to receive educational assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Missouri S&T Veterans Services staff are not employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and do not have access to veterans' records.
If you're planning to attend Missouri S&T, it's a good idea to submit your application before our Priority Application Deadlines to ensure that you're on the best track for all scholarship, financial assistance, and registration opportunities. Applicants will want to follow the same step-by-step application guide as traditional transfer students, and will be evaluated for admission using the criteria outlined on that guide.
Fall Semester - May 1
Winter/Spring Semester - December 1
Summer Semester - May 1
Final Application Deadlines: Fall, July 1; Winter/Spring, December 1; Summer, May 1
Withdrawal Policy for Students Called to Active Duty
Missouri S&T students called to active duty during the semester will have three options:
They may withdraw from school and receive a 100 percent refund.
Where appropriate, the student and instructor may consider the use of the "incomplete" grade (or "I" grade). The time spent in active duty will not be included in the time allowed to remove the incomplete grade (one calendar year).
The student and instructor may choose to have all the coursework completed prior to the active duty report day, in which case a final grade may be assigned. This would be appropriate if the student is called to active duty near the end of the semester.
A copy of the student's orders to active duty should be submitted to the Registrar's office.
Financial Aid
You are considered a veteran for financial aid purposes if:
You have engaged in active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
You were a member of the National Guard or Reserves who was called to active duty for purposes other than training.
You were a cadet or midshipman at one of the service academies and were released under a condition other than dishonorable.
You are not considered a veteran for financial aid purposes if:
You have never engaged in active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
You are currently an ROTC student, cadet, or midshipman at a service academy.
You are a National Guard or Reserves enlistee activated only for training.
Verification of Enrollment
All students who are receiving either the Active Duty or Selected Reserve Montgomery GI Bill must verify their enrollments monthly to receive payments. Complete these self-certifications each month in order to receive payment of educational benefits. To verify your enrollment:
