What does it take to be admitted to Missouri S&T?
Missouri S&T is a selective institution that uses your high school college preparation courses and a combination of ACT score and class rank for admission. A strong academic background in high school will not only make your application stronger, but will help you be a more successful student at Missouri S&T. [admission requirements]

What percentage of Missouri S&T students are from out-of-state?
About 25% of our students are from outside the state of Missouri, 70% are from Missouri and 5% of our freshmen are international students from countries around the world. Missouri S&T offers a geographically and culturally diverse learning environment.

How do I receive Credit-By-Examination or transfer college credit from other institutions?
Missouri S&T accepts AP (Advanced Placement) credit, CLEP (College Level Examination Program) credit and IB (International Baccalaureate) credit. CLEP credit is awarded for subject exams only – no general exam credit is available. In addition, Missouri S&T accepts college level non-remedial coursework from all accredited institutions. When should I apply?
At the beginning of your senior year of high school. Priority Application Deadline for the fall semester is December 1 and Final Application Deadline is July 1.

What are the deadlines for applications and financial aid?
Although applications for admission for the fall semester are accepted until July 1, students are encouraged to apply for admission before the Priority Application Deadline of December 1. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is accepted by Missouri S&T, and is available from high school counselors after January 1 or online at [www.fafsa.ed.gov]. Should I bring my personal computer to Missouri S&T?
If you already have a personal computer, you will find it useful at Missouri S&T. If you do not own a computer, do not rush out to buy one. Missouri S&T has hundreds of computer work stations available across campus, including in the residence hall computer labs.

Are first year students required to live on campus? Can they bring a car?
Yes. Students with fewer than 60 credit hours are required to live in University-approved housing. This includes university residence halls, many fraternity and sorority chapter houses and the Campus Christian House. Freshmen may bring a car to campus; parking information is available from the [parking operations website].
