Writing letters to admitted students is another important project in which Missouri S&T Admissions Ambassadors participate. Throughout the year, Ambassadors may write admitted students to congratulate them on being admitted to Missouri S&T. The objective of the letter is to relate your experience, as a Missouri S&T alumni or parent (or perhaps as both), and to encourage students to contact you or an admissions counselor with any questions.
For those Ambassadors agreeing to write letters to students, a list of students and addresses will be provided.

Dear Cathy:
I’m an attorney specializing in estate and tax law. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, where I majored in English with a minor in philosophy. While at Missouri S&T, I learned to think critically and analytically, as well as how to effectively communicate my thoughts and ideas, all important tools that I use every day.
In addition to the excellent academic preparation, I strengthened my ability to interact with others. As I developed friendships outside the classroom with classmates and professors, I began to gain an understanding and appreciate of the differences and similarities among people, regardless of their particular background, cultural heritage, or belief systems. This understanding has grown and become an essential part of my work as a lawyer, as well as in my personal life.
When I think of the growing diversity this is our global society, I am ever aware of how valuable the education I receive at Missouri S&T really is. Today, everyone must learn how to live and work in our increasingly multicultural world. I know from personal experience that you will get this preparation at Missouri S&T. I certainly did.
Congratulations on being admitted to the Missouri University of Science and Technology! I know that you have a great experience this fall. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 573.341.4166 or via email at kanderson@umr.msm.edu.
Sincerely,
Kathy Anderson
